The Fitzroy Readers are a series of phonics-based picture books that have been adopted by over 3000 schools in Australia. This program was developed over a period of 20 years by Fitzroy Community School in Australia. 90 storybooks are carefully designed for children to start with the alphabet, then simple phonics, and gradually move on to reading on their own.
In Japan, it can be used by a wide range of people, from elementary and junior high school students learning English for the first time to adults who want to further strengthen their English reading and writing skills. Also, since the stories are based on phonics, students can learn pronunciation alongside literacy skills, which is one of the best features of the Fitzroy Readers.
